Design Rangers Bios

Jenny SchellJennifer Schell

President, District Ranger

Jennifer came by her creativity and pioneering spirit while exploring the ghost towns and old mines of the mountain landscape where she grew up. She also developed her leadership skills at a young age: she was elected Mayor of Lawrence, Colorado, at the age of 5 by the town’s only other resident – her mother. She used her talent for planning, creativity and problem-solving to achieve over ten years of success as a freelance graphic designer prior to setting up the Ranger camp. In addition to being the guiding force behind Design Rangers, Jennifer is an accomplished interior designer and thrift store treasure seeker as well as an indisputable s’mores genius.

Christopher SchellChristopher Schell

Vice President, Habitat Manager, Head of Activities

A camper kid since birth, Christopher doesn’t remember a single vacation or holiday of his childhood that wasn’t spent setting up a campground or wandering through the backcountry. He developed a passion for exploration that carried over to the creative world, fueling over a decade of success in graphic design and fine arts. Before he became a full-time Ranger, he spent seven years as the art director for Origin Communications, an advertising agency specializing in the hi-tech industry. His background also includes Kugizaki Design, where he put his love of skateboarding and cycling to good use by developing high-impact sports marketing campaigns. Christopher serves as head of activities for the Design Rangers, mostly because he owns a Jeep.

When they're not in the field with their clients, you can usually find them cycling, snowboarding, and playing Guitar Hero with their two sons.
